How it works

Five steps, and the money waits until the end.

The order is the important bit. Nobody gets paid until both people agree the handover actually happened.

The five steps

In order. The order is what keeps it safe.

1

Say what you are doing, or what you need

A drive you are already making, or a job you need done. You say where, when, and what it is worth to you.

2

Get offers

People going the same way, or who are free nearby, offer to help. You pick who you want. Nobody is forced on you.

3

The money goes somewhere safe

Once you agree a price, the money is parked with a proper money company. Parked, not paid. You are not out of pocket, and the helper has not been paid yet either.

4

Show it happened

A short code at pickup, another at drop-off, and a photo. Both people end up with the same proof.

5

Get paid, get a rating

The money is sent to the helper. The rating sticks to your one account, which you use for everything on Kilomee.

What Kilomee charges

The helper keeps the full amount.

To start with, Kilomee only charges the person asking for help, not the person doing it. The helper’s screen still shows a fee line saying “none”, so nobody has to wonder.

If something goes wrong

Raising a problem stops the money.

The money stays put until someone sorts it out. In the end it either all goes to the helper or all comes back to you. Never half and half, because that just leaves two unhappy people.
